3 weeks Options Question Reddit

I am new to investing in the stock market and am a little confused about trading options. I understand that it can be risky so I am trying to take it very slowly as I gain understanding. That said, here is my question. In my Robinhood account, if I purchased and at some point then own options that are in the money. Do I have to actually exercise those options, purchasing the stock and then resell it to realize my profit. Or is there another way to close my position without actually buying the stock and make the spread? Any information from an informed, seasoned investor would be greatly appreciated!
