Pakistan Mocks Trump as Hormuz Debate Sparks Global Attention

by Dean Dougn

Pakistan mocked Trump, saying the focus of the war now appears to be reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which had never been closed in the first place.

MARKET INSIDER – A sharp remark from Pakistan has drawn attention amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, as officials questioned the shifting objectives of the conflict involving Donald Trump and Iran.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, appeared to mock the situation, stating that the goal of the war now seems focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz — a route he noted was already open before the conflict began.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, with a significant share of global oil supply passing through it. However, since the outbreak of the 2026 conflict, shipping routes have been disrupted, with Iran asserting control and restricting access to certain vessels.

Recent developments suggest that restoring safe passage through the strait has become a central issue in ongoing diplomatic and military efforts. At the same time, comments like Pakistan’s highlight growing skepticism among international players about the evolving objectives of the conflict.

As geopolitical tensions continue to reshape global energy flows, the situation around the Strait of Hormuz remains a key flashpoint with far-reaching economic implications.
