Vietnamese Tech Giant FPT Secures Chelsea Sleeve Sponsorship Deal

by Daphne Dougn

LONDON — FPT, Vietnam’s leading technology corporation, has significantly expanded its partnership with Chelsea Football Club, securing the coveted sleeve sponsorship deal that will see its logo prominently featured on the official jerseys of the club’s men’s, women’s, and Academy teams.

The surprise announcement was made on Wednesday, October 22nd. The FPT logo is set to appear on the sleeve for the duration of the current season, with the official club announcement stating the deal covers the 2025-2026 season as well.

This elevated partnership solidifies FPT’s position in the global sports marketing arena and reinforces its commitment to the U.K. market.

A Strategic Tech Partnership

While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, reports indicate that Chelsea’s previous sleeve sponsorship was valued in the range of £6–8 million (approximately $7.3–$9.7 million USD) per year, suggesting a significant investment by FPT.

The collaboration goes beyond mere brand visibility, focusing heavily on technology integration. FPT and Chelsea initially formed a “Global Strategic Partnership” in April, a collaboration focused on data analysisand the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance performance for the club at Stamford Bridge.

Todd Kline, Chelsea’s President of Commercial, emphasized the strategic nature of the deal:

“AI is transforming industries, and football is no exception. With a young, dynamic global digital talent pool, FPT brings advanced AI transformation to Chelsea, helping accelerate innovation while driving performance, fan experience, and community impact.”

Pham Minh Tuan, an FPT representative, echoed this sentiment, stating the partnership reflects FPT’s “unwavering commitment to excellence, as a trusted digital partner within the innovation landscape of the U.K. and of global businesses.”

FPT’s Elevated Status and Visibility

With this new agreement, FPT has been upgraded to a “Principal Partner” of the club as of October 22nd, placing it alongside major brands like Nike and BingX, and one tier above the London club’s other global sponsors.

Chelsea’s announcement officially labels FPT as a “technology partner.” The Vietnamese firm now joins the ranks of the 16 Global Sponsors—a list spanning sectors including sports, cryptocurrency, beverages, and automotive—of the 2020-2021 Champions League winner.

FPT’s branding and slogan have already been visible across the advertising hoardings at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s Premier League matches since the initial strategic partnership was announced earlier this year.

It is noteworthy that the main shirt sponsorship for the current season is still open, as the FIFA Club World Cup winner continues its search for a primary shirt partner.
